How much will it cost me?
All Personal Injury cases are handled on a contingency fee basis†. This means that your legal fee is dependent on our collecting money for you in your case. Our fees are usually a third (33.33%) of your gross recovery. However, this number may fluctuate depending on the complexity of the case. Workers' Compensation cases are generally handled on a contingency fee basis† which is subject to the approval of the Commission- others may be handled on an hourly or set fee basis.†Does not include costs advanced in cases. See contract for more detailed listing of what is included in costs
How long will my case take?
In this "information technology" age we are finding that cases are taking longer than ever to resolve. Insurance carriers in all types of cases are demanding more information and have access to more information than ever before. Many of them do not accept information via e-mail or fax. Most carriers have downsized and consolidated offices out-of-state which results in slower response times. Adding to the delays are the fact that most medical providers do not accept either faxed or emailed requests which increases the time it takes to get the information we need to evaluate your case. Also, depending on your health insurance carrier, we may have to depend on yet another distant party to provide us with information. Nothwithstanding these obstacles, most personal injury cases revolve around the amount of time it takes you to get well. Once you are released from treatment, our staff and attorneys are usually able to present your case to the insurance carrier within weeks. Our staff then follows up with the insurance companies on a regular basis to inquire about the status of your settlement demand. Once your case is settled, it usually takes up to four weeks to get a check to you and all the bills paid. If a case must proceed to court, this process is governed by the Rules of Court and may add another eighteen to twenty four months to a trial date. Workers' Compensation cases similarly suffer the same time delays associated with personal injury cases.Should I handle the case on my own?
Our attorneys are willing to speak with you, at no charge, to discuss whether you have a case. They are also willing to answer this very question: "Should I handle this case on my own?" Many times the answer is "yes." Since we work on a contingency fee basis, one incentive of this fee structure is to decline those cases which people may handle on their own. Why should I use your firm?
Our firm focuses on personal injury and workers' compensation cases. We make it our business to know these areas of the law.
